This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we process and your choices. The data controller is Synclingo, contactable at [email protected].
1. We never receive your audio or translations
Synclingo processes your voice audio and translated text entirely on your own device - using the built-in offline engine or third-party providers you configure with your own API keys. This content is never transmitted to, seen by, or stored on our servers.
2. What we collect
- Account data: your email address and a securely hashed password.
- Optional Telegram data: your Telegram user ID, if you link Telegram to your account.
- Licensing data: your license key(s), plan, and a hashed device identifier (derived from a Windows machine identifier) used to bind and limit activations.
- Payment records: payment status, amount, currency, and a reference from the payment provider. We do not receive or store your card or wallet credentials.
- Technical data: basic server logs (for example, IP address and timestamps), largely handled by our network provider (Cloudflare), for security and diagnostics.
3. Legal bases
- Account, licensing and validation data - performance of our contract with you.
- Payment records - performance of our contract and compliance with our legal (accounting/tax) obligations.
- Optional Telegram link - performance of our contract at your request.
- Server logs and security - our legitimate interests in operating and securing the Service.
4. How we use it
To provide and secure the Service, issue and validate licenses, process payments, provide support, and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell your personal data.
5. Cookies
Our website uses strictly-necessary cookies for login sessions and security (CSRF protection), and Cloudflare may set security cookies to operate its network. We do not use advertising or third-party analytics cookies.
6. Service providers
We share the minimum data necessary with providers that help us operate: the payment provider(s) you choose (for example, NOWPayments; Telegram for Stars), our email provider (Zoho), and our network/hosting provider (Cloudflare; our application database is hosted in the EU/Germany). Each processes data under its own data-processing terms.
7. International transfers
Some providers process data outside the European Economic Area (for example, Cloudflare's global network, Zoho, and Telegram). Where this occurs, transfers are protected by Standard Contractual Clauses and/or an adequacy decision under each provider's terms. Our application database is hosted in the EU (Germany).
8. Retention
Account data is kept while your account is active and deleted or anonymised within 30 days of account deletion. Payment and invoicing records are retained for the period required by applicable accounting or tax law, even after account deletion. Server and security logs are short-lived (typically no longer than 12 months). License-validation data is kept while the license is active plus a short period thereafter.
9. Your rights
You may access, rectify, erase, restrict, or port your data, and object to processing based on legitimate interests; where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it. You can delete your account and personal data yourself from your account page ("Delete account"); we retain only records we are legally required to keep. You may also contact [email protected]; we respond within 30 days. You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data-protection supervisory authority (in the EU, your national authority; in the UK, the ICO).
10. Security
We use reasonable technical measures (such as hashed passwords and secrets stored outside our codebase) to protect your data, but no method is completely secure. If a data breach affecting your personal data occurs, we will notify the relevant authority and affected users as required by law.
11. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
12. Changes
We may update this policy; the "Last updated" date reflects the current version, and we will notify you of material changes by email or in-app.
